Rachel, at Stitchedincolor is hosting a Mosaic contest called Summer Crush. I love her style and sensibilities so joining in her contests is always fun!
She has magically described Summer Crush, an opportunity to reflect on color, which I can do no justice to compared to her wonderful narrative that drew me in to the complexity and magnificence of summer colors, and inviting her readers to craft up to 2 mosaics, selecting 9 fabrics from the glorious inventory at Quilt Sandwich Fabrics.
Without further ado, my two selections follow, which I’ve called Juicy and Dawn to Night.
Juicy is vibrant, reminiscent of watermelons, cherries, sunshine, beach umbrellas, floral scents, shade gardens and the yin yan of summer limes and cucumbers.
Dawn to Night evokes the subtleties of the arrival of morning, softly muted tones that ripen throughout the day into bright and playful splashes of color that collapse unhurriedly into the deep blues of a sleeping night sky.
I’d love any of these fabric palates to work with. Which suits your summer cravings?
Oh, what interesting mosaics. Your take on summer days ending in that dark night sky is so creative! Thanks for playing along!
