I am very excited about a fall quilt-along hosted by Cheryl Brickey at  Meadow Mist Designs.  This year’s QAL is called Magnolia Mystery QAL.

Last year I experienced my first mystery QAL with Cheryl’s Meadow Mystery Quilt-along.  She offers a great series of monthly instructions which are fun easy to follow.

The first set of instructions were posted the last couple of months for fabric purchasing and for cutting.   I opted for yellows and grays and can’t wait to start sewing!

I love the gray and deeper gold color combination of Imprints by Katrina Roccella.  The white dotted fabric is a batik by Island Batik and will be the background fabric.

The floral on the right will be the binding.  It is Peonies in Storm, by Ann Marie Horner’s Mod Corsage line.

Here is the first set of cuts completed!  The grays on the left are back up fabrics just in case the dark gray squares in the middle don’t play well with the pattern (which expressed guidance for non directional fabrics…:).  )
