Hurray, I am finally caught up on the Fall into a QAL. The QAL is hosted by Partners in Design: Where Friends and Fabric Meet.
Block 6 of the Fall Into a QAL “Pie” was designed and released by Sherry Shish of Powered by Quilting. Head on over to her site for a fun and helpful tutorial and where you can download the Pie pattern for free.
The blocks are really coming together now, and I’m loving the fall colors. Browns, rusts, orange tones are my favorite. I even grew to like the addition of a warm green as the pie plate, to hold a playful pumpkin pie. All it is missing is a dollup of whipped cream**! **wink wink, which of course can be fixed if I choose to add it later.
I also redid my acorn block. The original white Acorn block was nice and simple though I decided the white was too white against the other blocks I’ve pieced thus far. I am super happy to have made the change.
See what I mean?
And, my framing fabric arrived and will be a perfect finishing touch on the blocks to bring out the fall foliage. The yellow, peach, green and blue are from NeedleandFoot and are P&B Textiles Color Weaves (green and peach), Painters Canvas Magnolia Lane Collection by Laura Gunn (blue) and Aged Allure Artisan by Pat Bravo (yellow).
I promised myself I would catch up on a few other WIPs before I start to frame these. Wishing myself luck with that choice! Happy Sunday!
Your block looks great! Can’t wait to see your whipped cream 😀 Thanks for linking up!

So nice Patty! The pie pan adds a nice touch of color and the acorn is so pretty. (I love acorns and when they start falling I get so excited that fall is coming!)

I love acorns too though it is hard to find many of them around here. Fall is my favorite time of the year. The smells, the colors and the weather change bring such joy.
