Magnolia Mystery Quilt Finish {2018-10-25}

Way back in the day, I mean summer, I joined a mystery QAL hosted and designed by Meadow Mist Designs.

I stayed up on the QAL through the months, though I surprise myself with every finish at how long it takes to actually get the quilt over the finish line.  Once the flimsy is finished, I can pass it along to be long-armed quilted pretty quickly (though often there is a backlog there).  With this quilt, I even had the binding sewn and ready to go.

It only took me two months after it came back from the quilters to hand sew the binding on.  The positive side is that it is just in time as the cooler weather is setting in.

I love shooting photos of quilts outside.  I didn’t have my helper to hold it this weekend so I made do with what I had on hand.  The bear didn’t seem to mind having his back to me to showcase the Anna Maria Horner Halo backing or the Mod Corsage binding (funny that I did run into a real bear this same weekend which I posted about here).

I love the modern design of this quilt.  It works well in our home as well.

The quilting pattern of leaves and circular scrolls really pops the flowers in the design.

This pattern is a keeper, and I think it will look really nice with navy colors.

I look forward to another Mystery QAL with Meadow Mist Designs next year!

  1. Patty, this is gorgeous – what a wonderful color scheme for autumn!! We have had a lot of bear activity around here as well. Though not in my yard. They did however scale a ten foot fence around my parents property so they could climb their apple tree!! Crazy .
